We live in a sinful world. Sins used to be frowned upon, but unfortunately, nowadays, sins are looked at as “the norm” and when we stand against it, we are looked at like we are crazy. When I sin, I don’t try to justify it and dress it up. I ask God for forgiveness. Sin is sin and is wrong. It’s that simple.
I sometimes wonder why God doesn’t just end it all. Send Jesus back and take care of it. The reason is he loves us and shows great patience. He is giving everyone a chance to get it right. 2nd Peter 3:9: “9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” Oh, what an awesome God we serve! He loves us so much; he is giving us time to get it right.
God’s patience is a beautiful thing and we need to imitate it. We are often impatient with one another; at least I know I am guilty. I see daily how patient God is with me and know that I need to show the same patience to people in my life. The definition of patience is “The capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.” We can all probably improve in this area.
I am thankful to serve a loving, kind, compassionate and patient God. I can’t imagine my life without him.
Striving Daily to Please Him,
